RE: 2011 AMERICAN RACER CUP
2011 AMERICAN RACER CUP FOR MODIFIEDS A HUGE SUCCESS – BILLY PAUCH NOTCHES OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP.
BINGHAMTON, NY…The 2011 version of the American Racer Cup for Northeast dirt Modified teams was once again a big success. The $150,000 season long program spearheaded by American Racer Tire and Lias Tire saw Billy Pauch claim the overall title for this season.
Pauch will cash in with over $15,000 in cash and product bonuses for his 2011 overall American Racer Cup Title. Pauch earned 11 feature wins at New Egypt Speedway (NJ) during the program this summer and dominated the points virtually all season in what was a remarkable season.
With his overall title Pauch was also eligible for a $20,000 bonus if he was able to win the Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour as well. He has been officially eliminated from that championship title based on the fact that there are only two races remaining on that tour and his current status in the point standings.
The tremendous program put in place by American Racer and Lias Tire will award over $150,000 in cash and free racing products to the teams that participated. Teams were only required to be a registered member with the program and compete at their home track. For Pauch the big overall title check will be solely for his one night a week racing at New Egypt Speedway.
Fred Woodward from Lias Tire created the program in 2010 and after two years the American Racer Cup has been a huge success. “We are very proud of our program and are thrilled to be able to put together these bonuses for the Modified teams in the northeast,” stated Woodward. He added, “After just two years the program continues to grow and we couldn’t be happier with the participation of the twelve track operators and teams.”
Stewart Friesen recorded the runner-up status in the overall cup standings based on another fine season at Five Mile Point Speedway (NY) that saw him record 8 feature wins at a track with ten different feature winners. Woodhull Raceway (NY) proudly had two drivers finishing in the overall top five in the point standings. Weekly Woodhull drivers Billy VanPelt and Alan Rudalavage finished third and fourth respectably. Matt Jester put his name on the map this summer with a strong season at the Delaware International Speedway (DE). He finished fifth in the overall standings.
Track Champions for the 2011 American Racer Cup were: Brett Hearn (Accord Speedway), Rick Laubach (Big Diamond Speedway), Matt Sheppard (Brewerton Speedway), Matt Jester (Delaware Speedway), Stewart Friesen (Five Mile Point and Utica Rome Speedway’s), Ronnie Johnson (Fonda Speedway), Jimmy Phelps (Fulton Speedway), Jeff Strunk (Grandview Speedway), Billy Pauch (New Egypt Speedway), Kevin Hartnett (Penn Can Speedway), Billy VanPelt (Woodhull Raceway).
The $150,000 American Racer Cup has been put together by Lias Tire and American Racer Tire.
